BILALl KASAMI  Mayor of Tetovo

Dr. Bilall Kasami was born on July 31, 1975 in Tetovo.

In 2000, he graduated in economics from the University "St. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje.

At the same University, in 2011, he successfully completed his doctoral studies, which earned him the title of Doctor of Economic Sciences.

From 2000 to 2004, he worked in the Customs Administration of the Republic of North Macedonia.

In the period from 2005-2006, he held the position of State Secretary in the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of North Macedonia, from where, after the end of his mandate in 2006, he returned to his post in the Customs Administration, where he remained until 2008. .

From 2009 to 2014, he was a professor at the Balkan International University.

Since 2014, he has temporarily retired from academic life to devote himself to politics.

He returned to his academic career in 2017 as a professor at several universities in the Republic of Kosovo, where he continued as a full-time professor at Dardania University.

On November 22, 2014, with the establishment of the "BESA" Movement, he was elected its first president, a position he still holds today.

In the parliamentary elections in December 2016, he was elected as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, a position he held until 2017.

In 2017, he resigned from the post of deputy in order to run for Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo.

In the early parliamentary elections on July 15, 2020, he was elected as a deputy in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia.

In the local elections, on October 17, 2021, he again ran for mayor of Tetovo, from the ranks of the "BESA" Movement. In the second round of the elections, held on October 31, 2021, he was elected by the citizens as the Mayor of the Municipality of Tetovo.

Dr. Bilall Kasami is married and has three children.
